About Me

Jacob Elwood is a passionate contemporary musician based in Toronto, Ontario, with roots deeply planted in the diverse musical landscape of his upbringing. Exposed to a wide range of musical genres from a young age, Jacob's influences span from the classical compositions of Mozart, Beethoven, and Debussy to the popular music of the 20th century and beyond.

During his teenage years, Jacob honed his craft by performing at various renowned venues across Toronto, such as the Mod Club, cultivating a dynamic and engaging sound. Additionally, Jacob served as the Rosedale Heights Senior Band director for two years, where he directed and organized school musical ensembles, selected and transcribed musical repertoire, facilitated group music lessons, and coordinated students for performances. This experience provided him with invaluable leadership skills and deepened his understanding of music education and ensemble management.

His musical journey led him to Vancouver, where he further developed his skills and expanded his artistic horizons. As a student at Capilano University, Jacob immersed himself in the vibrant music scene, notably as the Baritone Saxophonist/Bass Clarinetist of the prestigious 'A Band'. For two consecutive years, he contributed his talents to the university's top large ensemble, specializing in black American music (jazz) studies. He is on track to begin his Masters of Music at the University of Toronto starting in Fall 2025.

Jacob's musical journey is a testament to his dedication, creativity, and unwavering commitment to his craft. He is currently in the production phase of his debut album, set to release in 2025.
